"Come Away, O human Child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping
than you can understand."
-Yeats, William Butler. "The Stolen Child." The Yeats Reader. Ed. Richard J. Finneran. New York:Scribner, 1997. 27-28.
Yeats wrote about a child being lured away from the world to faery land, where the child would find no sadness. We all would love to be in a world without misery. In many ways, a journal is that escape. It is here in my journal where I can write my thoughts and feelings, be myself and share. This is my "Faery land", the faery land to which this military wife and mother of two boys can escape and relax for a while.
